My name is Adrian Curran.
I am from Warrenpoint, Co. Down, N. Ireland.
I have been playing and teaching guitar combined for nearly 25 years.
I have played live performances in countless bands, venues and genres.
I have taught hundreds of students from
Absolute Beginner to Advanced.
I am thrilled to have been part of their guitar playing journey.
When I started to play guitar there was no internet and no local private guitar teachers to help me learn how to play.
A guitar was bought for my brother because there was lessons being provided by our local primary school (unfortunately not at my time in the school).
He wasn't really interested. He was more into sport and football than guitar.
However, he attended the lessons - got shown some chords, drew the guitar chord diagrams out on a jotter and brought them home!
He got the teaching and I did his practising.
I know what it is like to really want to play an instrument but get frustrated at every turn!
I won't lie to you!
I wanted to give up learning guitar many times in despair fearing I would never play guitar well.
But I persisted!
I found friends who already knew how to play better than me and I asked them to show me guitar parts.
I begged for money off my parents to buy guitar magazines (Remember there was no internet) that would break down guitar parts into musical bite chunks making it a little easier to work out difficult guitar parts.
I struggled on a cheap acoustic guitar until my Dad bought me my first electric guitar and amp. It wasn't very expensive and it wasn't very good but it was an electric guitar!!!
I felt like a rock star!
Why am I telling you all of this?
Well...I so wanted to learn how to play guitar when I was young but had little to no support around me.
I want to provide you or your child with the help and the support to make sure you forge a relationship with their guitar and music that lasts a lifetime!
