The Adult Beginner Guitar Kit — Tuner, Capo, Picks & Five Digital Practice Tools

7 Stepping Stones to Any Song

My simple method for learning songs faster on guitar

Contents

You’ve got the guitar.

That’s honestly the biggest step.

Now you just need a few things to get started properly , the right accessories, and someone to show you what they’re actually for.

That’s what the Beginner Guitar Kit is here to do.

I’m Adrian Curran.

I’ve been teaching guitar in Warrenpoint, County Down for over 35 years, and I’ve helped hundreds of adults go from complete beginner to genuinely enjoying playing.

One thing I’ve learned in all that time: it’s rarely talent that holds people back.

It’s usually just not having the right tools or not knowing how to use them.

This kit sorts that out for you.

What’s in the Kit

Beginner guitar kit contents — clip-on tuner, capo and picks included in the Adrian Curran Guitars starter kit, Northern Ireland

Three physical items.

Five digital practice tools.

Every single one chosen because beginners actually need it.

Nothing thrown in to make your delivery look fuller.

Clip-on Tuner — Get in Tune from Day One

Here’s something I tell every new student: if your guitar sounds bad, playing it will feel discouraging and it won’t be your fault.

A guitar that’s out of tune sounds wrong no matter how well you play it.

The clip-on tuner takes that problem completely off the table. It clips onto your headstock, reads the vibration of each string, and gives you a clear, simple display showing whether you’re sharp, flat, or perfectly in tune.

No apps, no microphone fiddling, no guesswork.

Clip it on.

Pluck the string.

Adjust the tuning peg until the display goes green.

Done.

You’ll reach for this every time you pick up the guitar, and before long it’ll be second nature.

Capo — Play More Songs With Less Effort

A capo is one of those things that sounds mysterious until someone explains it and then you wonder how you ever thought about playing without one.

Here’s what it does: it clips across all the strings at a particular fret and shifts the key of the guitar.

That means you can use the same handful of chords you’re learning and suddenly be in exactly the right key to play along with songs you actually love.

Most of the songs people want to play — your classic acoustic songs, your campfire favourites, the ones you’ve been humming for years — use a capo.

It’s not cheating.

It’s just how guitar works, and it opens up a huge range of music very early on in your journey.

The capo in this kit is spring-loaded, easy to move with one hand, and won’t scratch or damage your guitar.

Picks — Find Your Feel

This one surprises a lot of beginners. Picks aren’t all the same, and starting with the wrong thickness can make strumming feel harder than it needs to be.

The kit includes a selection at different thicknesses — thin, medium, and heavier so you can try each one and discover what feels comfortable to you.

Most beginners find a medium pick works well for strumming chords.

Some prefer something thinner. You’ll know pretty quickly which feels right in your hand.

A small thing, but it makes a genuine difference to how enjoyable those first practice sessions feel.

5 Digital Tools — Chords, Capo Guide, Song Finder Tune by Ear & Guitar PlayIt

Adult beginner using guitar chord digital tool on smartphone — included in the Adrian Curran Guitars beginner kit, County Down

This is the part of the kit I’m most proud of and it’s what makes the Beginner Guitar Kit genuinely different from anything else you’ll find online or in a shop.

Alongside your physical accessories, you get access to five web-based practice tools built specifically with beginners in mind.

No downloads.

No subscriptions.

They work on your phone, tablet, or laptop.

Open them up and they’re ready to use.

Chord Randomizer

Generate random chords to build finger speed — no more playing the same 3 chords

One of the biggest traps beginners fall into is getting comfortable with two or three chords and never pushing beyond them.

The Chord Randomizer gently pushes you further.

It throws up random chord combinations so your fingers have to think, adapt, and get faster without it ever feeling like a chore.

Think of it as a personal trainer for your fretting hand.

All five tools are included in the Beginner Guitar Kit — along with your tuner, capo, and picks.

Capo Shifter

Find capo positions instantly so you can play any song without relearning chords

This one is a genuine game-changer for beginners.

You already know a handful of chords.

The Capo Shifter takes those chords and tells you exactly where to put your capo to play a song in a different key so instead of learning a whole new set of chord shapes, you just move the capo and play what you already know.

More songs, less frustration, more time actually playing.

Tune By Ear

Train your ear to tune without a clip on tuner because pros don’t need machines

The clip-on tuner will get your guitar in tune quickly and reliably every time.

But learning to hear when a string sounds right — without needing a gadget to tell you is one of the most satisfying skills you’ll develop as a guitarist.

Tune By Ear walks you through it gently, step by step, helping you build that ability from the very beginning.

You don’t need a perfect ear to start.

You just need to start.

You get access to all of this the moment your kit arrives.

No downloads, no subscriptions — just open and use.

Song Finder

Search any song’s chords instantly — learn the songs YOU actually want to play

This is the one that tends to get people the most excited.

Tell the Song Finder a song you love, and it finds the chords you need to play it.

No more trawling through dodgy tab sites or YouTube tutorials that assume you already know what you’re doing.

Just find the song, get the chords, and play from one of the best online guitar resources.

Because the fastest way to stay motivated as a beginner is to be playing music you actually care about.

Guitar Play It

Riff lessons with backing tracks so you’re never practising alone

There’s a big difference between practising on your own in silence and playing along with something.

Guitar Play It gives you backing tracks to play over, so even your early practice sessions feel like making real music rather than running drills.

It makes practice more enjoyable, more musical, and honestly more likely to happen.

Five tools.

Three physical accessories.

One kit that gives you everything you need to actually start playing — not just own a guitar.

Why This Kit Is Different

There’s no shortage of guitar accessory bundles online.

You can find a tuner and a handful of picks on Amazon for next to nothing.

But here’s the thing…those packs give you the items without any of the understanding.

You get a tuner with no explanation of how to use it.

A capo with no guidance on where it goes.

Picks with no sense of which one to start with.

And then you’re on your own.

The Beginner Guitar Kit is different because it doesn’t just hand you tools and leave you to figure it out.

The five digital practice tools are there to answer the questions that come up in those first few weeks.

The ones that would otherwise have you spending an evening down a YouTube rabbit hole, more confused than when you started.

It’s also worth saying: this is the only place in County Down where you can get something like this from someone who is actually local, actually teaches guitar, and is genuinely happy to help if you get stuck.

Who Is This For?

This kit suits a few different people and if any of these sound like you, you’re in exactly the right place.

You just got a guitar and you’re not quite sure where to begin.

Maybe you’ve already tried to tune it and it sounded off.

Maybe you’ve strummed a few chords and it hasn’t clicked yet.

The tuner gets you sounding right straight away.

The Capo Shifter and Song Finder will have you playing something you actually recognise sooner than you might expect.

The Chord Randomizer will keep pushing you forward once you get there.

You were given a guitar as a gift and it’s been sitting in the corner.

This is one of the most common situations I come across and there’s no shame in it at all.

Life gets busy. The kit gives you a gentle, practical way back in, with five tools that meet you exactly where you are and help you move forward at your own pace.

You played a bit years ago and you’d love to pick it back up.

The good news is it comes back much faster than you think.

Guitar Play It will remind you how good it feels to play along with something, and the Song Finder will have you rediscovering songs you used to love before the week is out.

What Our Students Say

Order Today — Delivered Across Northern Ireland & the UK

The Beginner Guitar Kit is available to order online.

I’m based in Warrenpoint, County Down and if you’re local, you’ll know that there are no guitar shops left in Newry or the surrounding area.

That’s a big part of why I put this together.

I wanted people nearby to have somewhere to turn that wasn’t just a faceless website.

The kit ships across Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK, so wherever you are, you can get started.

And if you have a question before you order — about the kit, about getting started, about anything at all — just get in touch.

I’m a guitar teacher.

Helping people figure this stuff out is what I do.
